Raleigh Elmo ``Cutie'' Baker, 82, of the 2000 block of Baltic Ave., died Aug. 11, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Baker, a former police officer with the Suffolk Police Department, had retired after 33 years of service.
Mr. Baker was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge 30 and a member of the Moose Lodge in Suffolk.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Waterfield Baker; two daughters, June Sutherland of Newport Richey, Fla., Nancy Schwartz of Holiday, Fla.; a brother, Holmes Baker of Burteson, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church by the Rev. William D. Bruner. A commital service will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk.
There will be a visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements.
