Mrs. Vernie Mae Autry Sears, 76, of 8225 Jolima Ave. and formerly of Robeson County, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1996, at her residence.
She was born in Robeson County on Jan. 10, 1920, to the late Mr. Alton and Mrs. Carrie Autry. She was a member of Landsdale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Sears and a son, William A. Sears.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Red Springs Funeral Home Chapel of Red Springs, N.C. Burial will be in Philadelphus Presbyterian Church Cemetery of Red Springs.
She is survived by a son, Ronald B. Sears of Baltimore, Md.; a grandson, David B. Sears of Fredericksburg, Va.; a granddaughter, TaJuana A. Dorsey of Ft. Fairfield, Maine; and several cousins of Robeson County.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Red Springs Funeral Home of Red Springs.
