Anne Tyson Hughes, 45, a homemaker and foster parent, died August 10, 1996, of stroke complications in Georgetown University Hospital.
Mrs. Hughes, a native of Tifton, Ga., lived in Herndon, Va., since 1987, serving as a foster parent to dozens of Fairfax County infants and children since then.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles F. Hughes Jr.; daughter, Amy Hughes Gross of Ft. Drum, N.Y.; son, Bryan Charles Hughes of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren, Samantha Anna-Marie and Nicholas Virgil Gross; and her mother, Rosa Jewell Tyson of Tifton, Ga.; five sisters, Carolyn Hoover and Jeannie Conover of Tifton, Eve Sturgeon of Ocilla, Ga., Susan Edwards and Ruby Meadows of Norfolk; and one brother, Johnny Arthur Tyson of Virginia.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
