Louise Noffsinger Ballou, 85, died Aug. 11, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Born in Covington, Va., she was the widow of Billy Witt Ballou and a member of Kempsville Baptist Church. Mrs. Ballou was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in the Norfolk public schools from 1954-1970 and the Virginia Beach schools from 1970-1976. She was a graduate of Westhampton College of the University of Richmond.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Ballou Hindman of Isle of Palms, S.C.; a brother, Dr. Jack R. Noffsinger of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandchildren, Katherine Anne Litzinger of Hagerstown, Md. and Donna Saunders Khalil of Poolesville, Md.; and two great-grandsons.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by Dr. Kelly J. Burris. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kempsville Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
