Carl J. Johnson, 92, a retired painter, died Aug. 12, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Newport News, was the widower of Evie May Johnson. He retired from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, Ruth Masonic Lodge (NU)89, and Scottish Rite Bodies.
Survivors include a brother, G. Winston Johnson of Mathews County, Va.; a nephew, Calvin Parrish of Lynchburg, Va.; two nieces, Kathleeen Bunch and Frances Lowe, both of Lynchburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today by the Rev. Susan H. Cothran with Masonic services in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
