Having been discriminated against for more than 50 years, strictly because I am female, I attempted to follow news articles on Shannon Faulkner rather closely. I admired her courage in pursuing admission to The (all-male) Citadel. I often wondered what harassment and threats she had been subjected to that the public knew little or nothing about.
I must say that I was shocked when I read about the T-shirts (1952 Bulldogs and 1 Bitch) that The Citadel is only just now banning. Shame on the leaders and administration of The Citadel for not banning them when they first appeared.
