Josiah S. Manuel, 64, of the 1500 block of Lafayette Blvd., died Aug. 13, 1996.
A native of Norfolk, he retired from civil service and was a self-employed landscaper. He was a member of the Steward Board of St. Thomas AMEZ Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra B. Manuel; three sons, Josiah S. Nelson and Joshua B. Manuel, both of Norfolk; Eirk Manuel of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Rosabell Colston and Mrs. Hattie Williams, both of York, Pa.; six brothers, Mr. Paris Manuel, Mr. Cameron Manuel, Mr. John Manuel, Mr. David Manuel, all of Norfolk, Mr. Victor Manuel of Los Angeles and Mr. Lin Manuel of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in St. Thomas AMEZ Church, by Dr. G. L. Scott. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Pretlow and Sons' Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
