Raymond Eugene McDaniel, 60, of the 2300 block of Vincent Ave., died Aug. 13, 1996, at his home.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. McDaniel was a retired SK-3 petty officer E-6 of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Manna Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and the Fleet Reserve Association.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Pearson McDaniel; three stepdaughters, Cecelia Y. Hall, Sherrie D. Cooper, both of Chesapeake, Gloria D. Trotter of Portsmouth; a stepson, Ronald G. Pearson of Williamsburg; four sisters, Alma Mack of Chicago, Ill., Mamie Johnson, Catherine Houston, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lillie Miller of Philadelphia, Pa.; three brothers, Charles McDaniel of Washington, D.C., George McDaniel Jr., the Rev. Curtis McDaniel, both of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Manna Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by Pastor Larry V. Brayboy. Burial with military honors will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
