Julia Virginia Paul, 78, of the 100 block of Causeway Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Paul was born in Robersonville, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Simon J. and Perlie C. Stalls Bland. She was the widow of William J. Paul. Mrs. Paul retired as a machinist helper after 13 years of service with civil service. She was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church, A.A.R.P., Great Bridge Senior Citizens club and Great Bridge Widowed Persons Service. She received a volunteer award from the city of Chesapeake for 16 years of service.
Survivors include her two daughters, Evelyn V. Stephens and Gail Paul Narducci, both of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. John W. Godfrey. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. At other times and immediately following the service, the family will be at 533 Sign Pine Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Hope Baptist Church, 1401 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23322.
