Mamie Vinson Askew, 75, of the 800 block of Melvin Drive, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 1996.
Mrs. Askew was raised in Murfreesboro, N.C. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Waverly L. Askew; a daughter, Susan J. Askew of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Angela Weatherly and Christina Hollingsworth; and a great-granddaughter, Bridgette Hollingsworth.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Joseph G. Savinsky in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
