Orvall ``Runt'' Wachter, 87, of the 1800 block of East Ocean View Ave., died Aug. 13, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Wachter was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church for 46 years, a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 60, Ocean View. He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer and from the Naval Air Station.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie S. Wachter; and a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Camp of Dallas, Texas; a step-granddaughter, Jeri Camp of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister in Arizona and two brothers in California.
His body was given to Eastern Virginia Medical School. A memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 1601 E. Bayview Blvd., Norfolk, Sunday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Frances Moody and the Rev. Harry Broome with a reception following in the church Social Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or to the Hospice Program, 3386 Holland Road, Suite 102, Virginia Beach, 23452.
