Sydney Shannon Reynolds, 54, of the 300 block of Middle Oaks Drive, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Farmville, Va., and was the son of the late Woodrow and Pauline Reid Reynolds. He had retired as a petty officer first class from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. Mr. Reynolds, ``Syd of Chesapeake,'' was a frequent caller to WNIS and WTAR radio programs.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Kerlin Reynolds; two brothers, William Reynolds of Chesterfield County, Va., and Morris Reynolds of Charlottesville, Va.; and two nieces and three nephews, Amanda Kerlin, Tiffany Reynolds, Nicholas Reynolds, Michael Groves, and David Groves.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Westview Cemetery, Farmville, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
