A man has been charged with fatally shooting his roommate during an argument outside a trailer, police said.
When police arrived around 10 p.m. Wednesday, they found 20-year-old Robert Oran, who had been shot in the chest after trying to get into the trailer he shared with Robert T. Aiken in the 200 block of Wedgewood Drive. Oran was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died.
Police arrested Aiken, 25, and charged him with murder.
Police spokesman Lou Thurston said the men were arguing outside the trailer just before the shooting happened. Aiken went into the trailer and Oran tried to follow him, Thurston said. Thurston said the men continued to fight. That's when Oran was shot, police said.
