Gamewell Benjamin Lutz, 76, of the 5100 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, Mr. Lutz retired from Tidewater Regional Transit as a mechanical supervisor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Martha Lutz; two sons, G. David and wife Audrey Lutz of Chesapeake, Beverly L. and wife Frieda Lutz of Portsmouth; two brothers, P.W. Lutz of Zuni, Va., Graham Lutz of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James D. Thomas. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
