Linwood W. Chapman, 78, died Aug. 18, 1996 in Norfolk.
Mr. Chapman was born in Norfolk and was retired after 32 years of service with the U.S Naval Air Station. He was a charter member of Azalea Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kathleen F. Chapman; a daughter, Sue C. Thompson and her husband Robert E. of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Lawrence L. Chapman and his wife Tate C. of Richmond; and a granddaughter, Leslie R. Thompson of Raleigh.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to view Mr. Chapman on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Azalea Baptist Church Building Fund.
