Some people need lessons in bicycle safety. In the past couple of days, I have seen many children, and adults too, riding on the wrong side of the road facing traffic. That decreases the amount of time that a driver has to react to a bike in the roadway.
One young lad was carrying his helmet on his handlebars. When he enters the trauma unit with a head injury, his bike will be safe.
At least he had a helmet. Even though it is the law for children to wear helmets, their use is rare among preteens and teens.
I avoided serious injury and possibly death when I was struck by a car and landed on the back of my helmeted head.
