HERE'S A VOTE FOR DOLE

Although I consider myself a pro-choice conservative independent, I voted for Clinton in 1992 because I thought that Bush had done a remarkably bad job as president and Clinton seemed to be focused on the right issues. (He fooled Admiral Crowe and William Safire; why shouldn't he fool me? Slick Willie, you won't fool me again!)

Bob Dole is a war hero who fought back from a terribly debilitating war wound to become a distinguished public servant for almost 50 years, with not a breath of scandal about any form of wrong-doing.

Bill Clinton, who is a draft-dodging vacillator, seems to have been involved in any number of questionable practices as a governor and as president.

A patient of mine said it exactly right: ``Bob Dole is 95 percent character and 5 percent charisma; Bill Clinton is 95 percent charisma and 5 percent character.''

Bob Dole is a little old, and he's been considerably beat up; but he is still a Boss Warrior, and he's fighting for the right things. He still has the fire and a dream, and he is going to get my vote in November.
