Alfred Holger Reed Sr., 86, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1996, in a local convalescent center.
He was a native of Finland and the husband of the late Martha Lucille Reed. Mr. Reed had retired as the plant materials manager for Ford Motor Co. after 42 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norfolk. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Alfred H. Reed Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park by Pastor James G. Cobb. Cox Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
