Bernice Theresa Ward, 72, of the 1100 block of Chesapeake Ave. died Aug. 21, 1996.
A native of Locustville, Va., she had retired as a dietary supervisor from Norfolk General Hospital. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Francis Ward Sr.; a daughter, Pamela Dawn Goddard of Corvallis, Oregon; two sons, Leslie F. Ward and Curtis F. Ward Jr., both of Chesapeake; a sister, Sue Crosley Bailey of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, Chesapeake, by the Rev. David L. Libengood. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.
