Edgar Matt ``Smitty'' Smith, 73, of Route 2, died Thursday Aug. 22, 1996.
He was the owner of Smitty's Bar-B-Que for many years and a member of Creeksville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary H. Smith; two daughters, Betty Lou Brown, Alice Faye Wallace, both of Halifax, N.C.; a son, Johnny W. Smith Sr. of Conway; a sister, Virginia Vinson of Murfreesboro; a brother, Leonard Everette Smith of Virginia Beach; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Creeksville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Conway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Conway-Severn Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Jackson Funeral Home, Jackson.
