ELECT ONE, GET TWO

I believed that an incumbent president should be given a second term out of respect for having served for four years.

But having watched the Republican National Convention for four nights on PBS (Channel 15) from 8 p.m. to late night, I have switched allegiance to the Republican Party. Colin Powell, Jack Kemp and Elizabeth Dole are so outstanding. I was mesmerized!

While Bob Dole is not an effective speaker, he is in good company, which should propel him over the top.

Elizabeth Dole's charm, poise, warmth and charisma have endeared her to millions. Whatever Bob Dole lacks, we find in her. She is an asset to him. If Dole is elected, she will be an asset to us.
