WINIFRED S. KRASNOW

Winifred Spandorfer Krasnow, 72, known to her family and many friends as ``Winnie,'' passed away quietly in her sleep on Wednesday, July 31, 1996.

She was born in Norfolk in 1923 and was a graduate of Old Dominion University. Mrs. Krasnow was retired from the Roanoke City Health Department, where she worked as a Family Planning Social Worker.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clem Krasnow. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Spandorfer and Bessie Albert Spandorfer, and is survived by her daughter, Catherine Krasnow of Atlanta; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Rita Krasnow of Roanoke; grandsons, Mark Krasnow and Daniel Krasnow of Roanoke; her sister and brother-in-law, Chicki and Chuck Lipton of Atlanta; her sister-in-law, Joanne Krasnow of Los Gatos, Calif., and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her warmth and strength very much.
