Mary Roberts Cousins Shupe, 75, of the 2300 block of Rush St., died Aug. 22, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Falls Church, Va., and was the widow of Fred Walter Shupe Sr. Mrs. Shupe was a graduate of the Garfield Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. She had retired from nursing having worked as a charge nurse at Norfolk General Hospital for over 25 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Theresa C. Rhodes of Haines City, Fla., Sandra C. Pittman of Concord, Tenn., and Virginia Ruby Cousins; three sons, Fred W. Shupe Jr., John Michael Shupe, both of Norfolk, and Charles Cousins of Woodstock, Va.; a stepson, Larry Shupe of Springfield, Va.; three sisters, Frances R. Mitchell of Arlington, Va., Isabel R. Hines of Lively, Va., and Katherine ``Kitty'' Simpson of St. David's Church, Va.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
