PENNIE CROSS

Pennie Cross, of the 2400 block of Tutherell St., died Aug. 21, 1996, in a local hospital.

Born in South Hampton, she was the widow of Charlie Cross. She was a domestic and she was a member of Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth and Mt. Hermon Senior Citizen Group, Portsmouth.

Survivors include her sister, Lela Burden of Norfolk; three nieces, Lela E. Alston of Norfolk, Thelma Warren of Portsmouth, Lucille Dunn of Jamaica, N.Y.; three nephews, Jasper Warren of Tacoma, Wash., Sinclair Babb and Robert Warren, both of Jamaica, N.Y.; three great-nieces, Virginia, Blanche and Barbara; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Burial will be in Tyler Cemetery, Windsor, Va. Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. today at Corprew Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Sunday at 1734 Canton Ave., Norfolk, for the funeral procession to the chapel.
