Mary Hough Aiken, 76, of the 3000 block of Tyre Neck Road, died Aug. 22, 1996, in Portsmouth.
Born in Cradock (Norfolk County), she was the widow of Thomas Julien Aiken. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Portsmouth, and the United Methodist Women. She was president of the Tyre Neck Garden Club during the 1960s.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Springer of Chesapeake; a son, Edward L. Aiken of Lenoir City, Tenn.; two sisters, Gloria Martinovich of San Diego, Calif., and Dorothy Blythe of Portsmouth; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Celeste Heath in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 1:30 to 2:30 Sunday and at the residence, 3068 Tyre Neck Road, Chesapeake, at all other times. Friends desiring to view may call the funeral home after noon today. Memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
