Wilma Rhoades Senter, 91, a mother and a homemaker, died Aug. 24, 1996, in a Williamsburg retirement center.
Born in Keewanee, Ill., she was the widow of John B. Senter Sr. She was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church and was formerly church pianist and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Senter and her husband had formerly owned and operated Senter's TV and had previously operated Senter's Market on 19th Street in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Marian R. Philips of Virginia Beach; a son, Dr. John B. Senter Jr. of Norfolk; grandchildren, John B. Senter III of New York, Robert R. Senter of Ellicott City, Md., the Rev. J. Kevin Philips of Monterey, Calif.; and a great-grandchild, R. Reed Center Jr. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Reed Senter, who was killed during the Korean Conflict, and granddaughter, Robin Reed Philips.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John Jordan in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
