Alex Jamaal Harris, 5, of the 9600 block of 8th Bay St., died Aug. 21, 1996, in Portsmouth.
Born in Portsmouth, he is survived by his mother, Alicia L. Ash of Norfolk; father, Wendell R. Harris of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; stepfather, Mario A. Ash of Norfolk; four brothers, Craig A. Smith Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kelvin J. Harris of Norfolk, William E. Chestang of Philadelphia and Terence J. Harris of Tuscaloosa; grandparents, Samuel O. Kirkland Sr. of Tampa, Fla., Beverly Kirkland of Norfolk, Bobby and Dianne Stevens of Greensboro, Ala.; four uncles; five aunts; a host of cousins and other family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday by Samuel Kirkland in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel.
