The people who came up with the idea of passing out surveys on routes 168 and 17 sure missed the boat. Anyone knows the last thing you want to do to the driving public is to cause a traffic jam!
Where were most of these people going? To the Outer Banks, right? Why not make the surveys available through motels and rental agents? Then instead of aggravating people, there might be a meaningful response.
I hope more thought goes into where the new road is put than went into the shortsighted survey idea. By the way, a toll booth will create the same back-ups just eliminated on Route 44!
