KITTY HAWK MAN, 75, DIES AFTER 2-CAR ACCIDENT

A 75-year-old Kitty Hawk man died Friday in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital from injuries he sustained in a two-car accident in Nags Head.

Frank L. Tutino had been transported by Dare Med Flight from the Outer Banks Medical Center.

The accident happened about 2 p.m. Friday at U.S. 158 and West Adams Lane, said Nags Head Police Chief Charles Cameron. Tutino, who was driving a 1991 Mercury, was trying to make a left turn to head north on 158 when his car was struck on the driver's side by a 1989 Taurus, police said.

The Taurus, driven by Maria A. Daley, 21, of Australia, was damaged beyond repair, as was the Mercury.

Daley and three passengers aged 4, 6 and 10 were treated for injuries at the Outer Banks Medical Center and released. The children, all of Rodanthe, are friends of Daley.

Nags Head Police and Fire Department personnel, along with Dare County Emergency Medical Personnel, responded at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by Nags Head police.

Cameron said that neither weather, speed nor alcohol was a factor in the accident. No criminal charges will be filed.
