Jay Webster Fentress, 81, died Aug. 25, 1996 in PGH Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
He was born in Greensboro, N.C., son of the late Julian Webster Fentress and Verta Tally Fentress and was a Presbyterian. He was retired as a supervisor with C & P Telephone Co. and served the Norfolk and Eastern Shore districts for many years. He was a member of the C & P Pioneers of America and was a Ruritan and member of the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Kelly Fentress; children, Jane Fentress Russell and Jay W. Fentress Jr., both of Accomac; a sister, Jayne Lamb of Greensboro; and two grandchildren, Mariah Kelly Russell and David Kyle Russell, both of Accomac.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Joe McKnight. Williams-Onancock Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
