J. ROGER DEBUSK

J. Roger DeBusk, 68, of the 200 block of Pelham Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 1996 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

He was born Aug. 27, 1927 in Roanoke, a son of the late Walter R. and Fannie Trout DeBusk. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro and a retiree of Genicom Corp. Mr. DeBusk was a consultant for CR Hudgins Plating in Lynchburg. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Lee Lodge 209 AF & AM and member of Scottish Rites in Lynchburg. He was district Masonic home ambassador of the 19th Masonic District. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge No. 2270. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Roanoke College and received a master's degree in business administration from Lynchburg College.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Heitzenrater DeBusk; two sons, A. Neal Lowe and his wife Anita of Lynchburg and John DeBusk and his wife Sandy of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Cheryl Lowe of Hampton; a stepson, Richard K. Heitzenrater and his wife Janine Riley of Stuarts Draft; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Terry Anderson and her husband Dan of Staunton, Mrs. Karen Hempstead and her husband Ralph of Struthers, Ohio, and Ms. Kathleen Heitzenrater of Waynesboro; a brother, Walter R. DeBusk Jr. of Bristol, Tenn.; a sister, Jean Rich of Gastonia, N.C.; six grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Adcock DeBusk.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, conducted by the Rev. Jim Wood and Dr. Roy Creech with burial following in Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Waynesboro Chapel of Etter/Reynolds Funeral Service. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home by Lee Lodge 209. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetic Association, Shenandoah Valley Chapter, P.O. Box 2855, Staunton, Va. 24402, or to the local SPCA.
