William F. Tubbs, 74, died Aug. 25, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Tubbs was born in Stephenville, Texas. He was the retired owner of Tubbs Auto Parts. He was a member of Little Creek Lions Club, Bayside Masonic Lodge (NU)218; Khedive Shrine Temple, AAONMS; Scottish Rite Bodies; and past member of the mini motors. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee ``Dickie'' Tubbs; a daughter, Phyllis Abeshaheen and her husband, David, of Chesapeake; three brothers, Fred Tubbs of New York, Franklin Tubbs of Zuni and Donald Tubbs of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, John K. Tubbs Jr. of Virginia Beach and Glenn Abeshaheen of Chesapeake. He was preceded in death by two sons, William F. Tubbs Jr. and John Kenneth Tubbs.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Fr. Anthony Diffenbaugh. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
