HARVEY L. HYATT SR.

Harvey Lee Hyatt Sr., died Aug. 24, 1996 at Oak Meadow Nursing Home.

Mr. Hyatt was born in Norfolk County in 1923. He attended Maury High School and graduated from William and Mary College, VPI and MIT. He was a fighter pilot in World War II. He was with the Bureau of Ships in Washington, D.C., and Hiattsville, Md., as a naval architect for 35 years. He was a past member of Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge (NU)219.

Survivors include his wife, Olga D. Hyatt; two sons, Harvey Lee ``Hal'' Hyatt Jr. of Alexandria and Robert Franklin Hyatt of Fredericksburg; two grandsons, Robert and Jesse Hyatt of Fredericksburg; and a sister, Evelyn Frances Holt of Ocala, Fla. He was predeceased by a son, John Micheal Hyatt.

Friends may call at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ivy Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314.
