Margaret W. ``Peggy'' Cummings, 79, of the 3600 block of Somme Ave., died Aug. 26, 1996, in Lake Taylor Hospital.
Mrs. Cummings, the widow of Earl L. Cummings, retired after 30 years as a private duty registered nurse. She was a member of Somme Avenue Christian Church; past matron of Old Dominion Chapter 100; Order of the Eastern Star; Ladies of the Scottish Rite; Norview Royal Arch; Keystone Ladies Club; and Friends of the Norfolk Zoo. She was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the nursing corps.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Margaret Harwell of Virginia Beach; two sons, Donald Earl Cummings and his wife, Donna of Annadale, Va., and Stephen Ray Cummings of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Stephanie R. Cummings, Stacie M. Cummings, Jane B. Harwell and Maggie E. Harwell, all of Virginia Beach; a great-grandchild, Nathan A. Cummings.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by Dr. William Gregory in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
