L. Madoline Uzzell, 87, formerly of Smithfield, died Monday, Aug. 26, 1996, in Newport News.
She was a native of Isle of Wight County, and retired as a sales clerk from Miller and Rhodes Department Store. Miss Uzzell was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Smithfield, and a member of the church's choir.
Miss Uzzell was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Uzzell Barrett. Survivors include a niece, Ethel Barrett Long of Hampton; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Macon B. Walton, vicar of Brandon Church, Burrowsville, and Christ Church, Waverly, officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
