Roland L. Holland, of the 1600 block of Strafford St., died Aug. 21, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Holland, the widower of Dorothy Holland, was a native of Princess Anne County. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was in the Army and was a mason of the Masonic Lodges.
Survivors include a son, Michael Holland; a brother, Earl Holland; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Wesley Nixon, Billy Smith, Vernon Privott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Joe Fleming in Third Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church Wednesday at 11 a.m. Friends will assemble at 1605 Strafford St., Portsmouth, at noon Wednesday. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
