Edwin Owens Culpepper Jr., 78, of the 4300 block of Midhurst Lane, died Aug. 26, 1996, in Chesapeake Nursing Home.
Mr. Culpepper was a retired marine engineer for the U.S. Government with Newport News Shipbuilding. A native of Portsmouth, he was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Culpepper; two daughters, Marie Taylor of Chesapeake, Barbara Warren of Lindale, Texas; a son, Edwin O. Culpepper III of Norfolk; a sister, Virginia Buchanan of Winchester; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by the Rev. Don Sheffield. Burial will be in Oak Grove. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 20 Koger Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
