Elisabeth Gaines, 75, of the 1100 block of Crawford Parkway, died Aug. 27, 1996, at her residence.
A native of Asheville, N.C., Mrs. Gaines retired from Swift and Company, Norfolk. She was a member of Park View United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Gaines; a daughter, Rosemarie Gaines of Portsmouth; two sisters, Kate McMahan of Greensville, S.C., Sally Yandle of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Tom Green of Brooksville, Fla., and Mike Green of Rock Hill, S.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Park View United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dan Spaugh. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery, Hendersonville, N.C. at 11 a.m. Saturday. The family will be in Loving Funeral Home Chapel today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Park View United Methodist Church, 1131 Crawford Pkwy., Portsmouth, 23704 or to Wellsprings Hospice Foundation, 3636 High St., Portsmouth, 23707.
