HUNTERS P. JOYNER

Hunters Zulean Porter Joyner, 89, widow of Thadeous Joyner Sr., died Monday, Aug. 26, 1996.

A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a homemaker, member of Shiloh Baptist Church and its church mother.

Survivors are three daughters, Vernetta Greene of Smithfield, Hunter Purdie of Suffolk, Arletta Hawks of Chesapeake; a son, Thadeous Joyner Jr. of Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Joyner of Windsor; a sister, Jessie Green of Baltimore, Md.; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. James T. Elam Sr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in church at 11:30 a.m. Friday. The family will assemble at the residence at noon Friday. Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield, is in charge.
