Harold Walker Vinson, 79, of the 300 block of East Memorial Drive, died Aug. 28, 1996, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Born in Hertford County, N.C., Mr. Vinson was a retired sign erector of N.C. Dept. of Transportation. He was a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church, Ahoskie, the Methodist Men's Club and Woodmen of the World. Also he was a World War II Army veteran and received two Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Knight Vinson; two daughters, Brenda Vinson Rawls, Susan Vinson Terry, both of Aulander, N.C.; a sister, Pearle Bennett of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a brother, Milton Vinson of Marion, Va.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Ahoskie United Methodist Church, Ahoskie, by Dr. Kenneth Hall and the Rev. Robert May. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
