Naomi E. Dudley, 64, of the 900 block of Bagnall Road, died Aug. 27, 1996, at home.
Born in Williamston, N.C., she was the widow of John L. Dudley. Ms. Dudley, a retired domestic worker, was a resident of Calvert Square Community. She was vice president of Calvert Square Advisory Council, CEO of Janitorial Workers, member of Senior club, volunteer for SHARE Program and FoodBank. She was in charge of the Community Flea market and was the recipient of the Senior Volunteer Recognition Award from NRHA for all of the housing communities for 1996-1997.
Survivors include daughters, Eve Patterson, Sandra Knight, both of Norfolk; sons, Charles V. Mitchell, James E. Dudley, both of Norfolk, William A. Dudley of California; a godson, James Copeland of New York; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary M. Glover, and her parents.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. William D. Scott. Family and friends will assemble at 3759 Brennan Ave., Norfolk, at noon for the funeral procession.
