Lessie Midgett Davis, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Davis, born in Salvo, N.C., was a homemaker and retired from Davis Store of Manteo. She was a member of the Manteo Rebecah Lodge (NU)52, Mount Olivet United Methodist Chuch and the Hampton Boat Racing Association. Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late John Guthrie Midgett and the late Missouri Gray Midgett and the wife of H. Vernon Davis of the home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, LeVern D. Parker of Kill Devil Hills and Ella D. Wilson of Pequea, Pa.; two sisters, Alice McChesney of Manteo and Inez Ausley of Jacksonville, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia D. Staab.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, by the Rev. Dennis Goodwin. Burial will follow in the Manteo Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
