Shirley G. Cuffee, 60, of the 200 block of W. 27th St., died Aug. 27, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk.
Born in Wayne County, N.C., Mrs. Cuffee was a bus driver for Tidewater Regional Transit for nine years. She was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and president of the church Usher Board. She was member of Blanch M. Bruner Chapter (NU)17, Order of Eastern Star and the Independent Order of Foresters Court Dominion (NU)1597.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel L. Cuffee Sr. of Chesapeake; three daughters, Delena Benjamin of Upper Marlboro, Md., Shelia Phifer of Virginia Beach, Karen Cansler of Hinesville, Ga.; fours sons, Kenneth Cuffee, A. Jerome Cuffee, both of Norfolk, Samuel L. Cuffee Jr. of Omaha, Neb., Keith Cuffee of Hyattsville, Md.; her mother, Sarah J. Forte of Washington, D.C.; 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; an aunt, a mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Light Baptist Church by the Rev. Ajack Scott. Burial will be in Cassell-Cuffee Family Cemetery, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
