VIRGINIA E. BUNCH

Virginia Early Bunch, 73, of 213 S. Oakum St., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996, in Chowan Hospital.

A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Bunch was a daughter of the late John Allen Early and Mrs. Londa Collins Early of Charlotte, N.C. She was the widow of the late Henry Allen Bunch. Mrs. Bunch was a retired nurse and was the first anesthetist for the Chowan Hospital. She was an alumnas of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. She was a member of the Edenton Baptist Church where she was active in the Mary Powell Circle.

Surviving other than her mother are two sons, Lloyd Allen Bunch of Angier, N.C., and Joseph Henry ``Joe'' Bunch and his wife, Audrey Worrell Bunch, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; three grandchildren, Virginia Ruth ``Ginny'' Bunch, Aaron Joseph Bunch and Jordan Elizabeth Bunch of Elizabeth City; a sister and her husband, Jean and Ron Arthur of Charlotte and their sons, Donald and Ronald Arthur; a brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Early of Charlotte and their daughter, Cecilia Belk; nieces, Anita Robertson and Gloria Bartlett; nephews, Jimmy Early, Barry Early, Gary Early and Richard Early; another niece and nephew, Marian and Mike Mankin and great-nieces, Karen, Kelly and Katy Mankin; nephew and niece, Doug and Carolyn Early and their sons. Mrs. Bunch was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Early and Roy Early.

Services for Mrs. Bunch will be conducted Saturday in the Edenton Baptist Church by Dr. Kenneth Word, with burial following in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Edenton Baptist Church, 206 S. Granville St., Edenton, N.C. 27932 or to the Chowan Hospital Foundation-Cardiac Rehabilitation, P.O. Box 629, Edenton, N.C. 27932. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is serving the Bunch Family.
