CHARLES W. NORFLEET

Charles Whitmel Norfleet, 92, a 30-year resident coming from Norfolk, died Thursday, August 29, 1996, in Hollywood.

He was born in Roxobel, N.C., and worked for the U.S. Railroad Postal Service in Norfolk until his retirement in 1963. He was a member of Hollywood Elks Lodge (NU)1732 since 1967.

He is survived by his loving family - wife of 34 years, Monique; daughter, Carolyn Rumage of Smithfield; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Charles W. Jr., and Betty Rae of Yuma, Ariz; granddaughters, Diane Stagg and her husband, Dr. Francis Stagg of Sandy, Utah, Allison Petersen and her husband, Eric of Anaheim, Calif., Elizabeth Jadlow and her husband, Paul, of Aurora, Mo.; great-grandsons, Christopher and Mathew Stagg and Taylor Jadlow, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted by his son, the Rev. Charles W. Norfleet Jr., at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Roxobel, at 11:00 a.m. on September 7. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Woodburn in Roxobel. Arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter Funeral Home. The family suggests donations be made to Vitas Hospice Care, 3600 Washington Street, Hollywood, Fla., 33021.
