Jerry A. Payne, 58, of the 3000 block of Humboldt St. died Aug. 30, 1996 in a local Hospital.
A native of Bristol, Tenn., he retired from Brown and Williams Tobacco Co. as a machinist after 20 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Temple Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Alice L. Payne; two daughters, Tracey K. Payne of Calif., Melissa F. Payne of Florida; a stepson, Michael Boush of Norfolk; four sisters, Ruby K. Busby of Norfolk, Ardith Young of McMinville, Tenn., Wyona G. Null of Norfolk, Zelma Joleene Eldridge of Colonial Heights, Va.; three brothers, James W. Payne of Suffolk, Robert L. Payne of Bristol, Perry Ronald Payne of California; and two grandchildren, Eric and Kristal Ayers of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted Tuesday at noon by Dr. Lamar Sentell at Calvary Temple Baptist Church. Burial will be in Shelby Hills in Bristol. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, in charge. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
