James Dillard York, 71, died Friday, Aug. 30, 1996, at a Dare County medical facility.
Mr. York was born in Greensboro, N.C., and retired from the construction industry. He was the son of the late John Luther York and the late Naomi Catherine Maness York.
He is survived by two sisters, Clady Vincent of Greensboro and Virginia Smith of Kill Devil Hills; and a brother, Ben York of Yuba City, Calif.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today in Austin Cemetery with Eugene Mclawhorn and the Rev. Richard Lamphere officiating. A visitation is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Twiford's Colony Chapel. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o East Carolina Bank, P.O. Box 1749, Nags Head, N.C. 27959. Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
