I am a tired independent voter and there are probably many more that feel the same way.
I am tired of hearing about civil rights, individual rights, women's rights, gun-owner rights, children's rights, seniors' rights, black rights, homosexual and lesbian rights, poor people's rights, rich people's rights and rights that have not even been thought of yet.
I thought when the Bill of Rights was written that it declared the rights of all citizens.
I am tired of candidates for public office telling me and others we are not intelligent enough to own a firearm and that ``right'' must be modified.
I am tired of mealy-mouthed politicians, hiding behind high-sounding organizations, telling me the country's morals, and mine, are going down the tubes and we should come back into the fold for our own salvation and that of the country.
I am tired of listening to advocates of unborn babies claim everyone that does not think the way they do is guilty of murder and will suffer the hellfires of damnation.
I am tired of newspapers that support an individual to the detriment of the others. I am tired of television commentators that dissect the words of political candidates as if they are the supreme authority.
I am tired of a Congress that blames the president and a president that blames the Congress. I am tired of congressmen/women, senators, state representatives and senators, city officials, governors and above all a president making promises they know they cannot keep regardless of how well meaning they might be.
I am tired of hearing all of this verbal garbage and wish they would just cut to the quick and let me and everyone else decide what we want.
