Your sending Guy Friddell to cover the Republican convention is akin to having an arsonist evaluate the merits of firefighting or having Fidel Castro file a report on democracy and the free enterprise system.
For 12 years during the Reagan and Bush administrations, Mr. Friddell fulminated regularly about the Republicans in general and Presidents Reagan and Bush in particular. During the past four years, however, he has been remarkably silent about the president. This is strange since the corrupt Clinton regime provides so much muckraking material.
I think you owe your readers better than such one-sided coverage.
