Dale E. Vinson, 71, died Aug. 31, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Vinson was born in Eldon, Iowa, and was a Protestant. He retired as a chief postal clerk from the U.S. Navy after 21 years and also retired as a postal carrier from the U.S. Postal Service after 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ardyce M. Vinson; a son, Ronald D. Vinson of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Dixie Trainer of Trenton, Mo., Eileen Billingsworth of Newton, Iowa, and Nora Smith of Rio Linda, Calif.; a brother, Ted Vinson of Newton; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Del Raye D. Willet.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Danny Kessner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
